During this crucial time in their development, we direct children towards experiences and learning that may be new to them. At our private international school, we encourage students to respect each other through clear guidelines that promote harmony among them.
We emphasise the importance of cultivating a constructive approach and personal discipline, essential to forging their identity and temperament.
The Preschool segment provides a dynamic and enriching environment. Here, children participate in a variety of activities such as sports, art, music, drama and cooking, among others. In addition, they are taught Spanish on a daily basis, with 50-minute sessions.
As an internationally renowned British school, our students are naturally introduced to multiple languages, enabling them to establish authentic relationships with peers of different nationalities and faiths. Many of them are fluent in three languages or more, strengthening their pathway to success.
This phase is designed for children who are 3 to 4 years old. During this crucial period, children develop valuable social skills and acquire fundamental knowledge about their environment and verbal communication.
Our educators provide clear direction for children to develop properly by encouraging bilingualism at this early age.
Priority is given to areas such as:
Your child has started their primary school adventure! Reception is not just about colours and numbers; it is a vital year for fostering independence, confidence and curiosity.
Pupils follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, focusing on:
– Personal, social and emotional development.
– Physical growth.
– Communication.
Personal, social and emotional development: One of the main aspects of your child’s first year at school will be to focus on their personal, social and emotional development, and their teacher will aim to give them a good start to their school experience by helping them and the children will begin to form positive relationships, develop confidence and self-awareness, as well as manage their feelings and behaviour.
Physical development: Physical development is also important: hopefully you will notice that they are beginning to move more confidently and understand how to look after themselves and be healthy.
Communication: The main focus this year is communication. Children learn first by talking and listening, and this year you may notice your child communicating in a variety of ways at school, for example, through stories, in conversations with adults and their friends, or through facial expression, movement or dance.
This year, your child will continue to explore, discover, interact and communicate, preparing for a future full of learning and achievement.
